The founder of Mahalakshmi Ladies Drama Group Trust, Bombay Gnanam, has written, directed, and produced all the plays under the trust’s banner. She personally trains the actors and oversees every aspect of production.

Her immense contributions to theatre have been widely recognized. She has been honored with the prestigious Kalaimamani State Award, presented by the late Chief Minister Selvi Jayalalithaa.
