Mahalakshmi Ladies Drama Group Trust is a unique all-women theatre group where women perform even male roles. The plays are centered around socially relevant themes and meaningful messages.

The group has received tremendous appreciation from audiences and fellow theatre groups alike. Over the years, it has won numerous awards across all spheres of theatre presentation — including story, acting, direction, and production.

The trust works purely out of love for Tamil theatre and is dedicated to promoting the art of stage drama in its true spirit.

Launched in October 1989, the group staged its first full-length play in Mumbai. Over the last 33+ years, it has successfully presented 1000+ shows featuring 22 different stories and themes across India.
